Short version

This website sets no cookies and uses a self-hosted Umami analytics instance instead of third-party analytics providers. We process only minimal technical analytics, standard server access logs, and any email you choose to send us.

1. Who we are

This website (flui.cloud) is operated by Dawit Abate Woldeamanuel, acting as a natural person and data controller under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).

For any privacy‑related request you can reach us at dawit@flui.cloud.

2. What personal data we process

We process only three categories of personal data:

  • Server access logs generated automatically when your browser loads the site: IP address, User‑Agent string, requested URL, timestamp, and HTTP response status.
  • Self-hosted analytics data collected through Umami: page views, referrers, visited paths, approximate country, browser, operating system, device type, screen size and basic campaign parameters where present. We use this data to understand whether the site is useful and which pages need improvement.
  • Email correspondence you voluntarily send to one of our published addresses (see §6): the sender's email address, message body, and any attachment you include.

We do not collect names, contact details, behavioural data, location data, device identifiers, or any special categories of data under Art. 9 GDPR through website analytics. We do not profile visitors and we do not make automated decisions.

3. Legal basis

  • Server access logs: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in delivering the site, preventing abuse, and debugging errors.
  • Self-hosted analytics: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in understanding aggregate website usage and improving the content, performance and navigation of the site, without using cookies or third-party analytics providers.
  • Email correspondence: pre‑contractual measures (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) for general inquiries, and legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) for security reports.

4. Cookies, analytics and tracking

This website sets no cookies, uses no localStorage or sessionStorage, and does not use fingerprinting, advertising pixels, cross-site tracking, or A/B testing tools.

We use Umami as a self-hosted, privacy-friendly analytics tool. The analytics script is served from infrastructure controlled by us and is configured without cookies. Analytics data is used in aggregate to understand site usage; it is not used to identify individual visitors.

5. Third‑party content on the page

The page does not embed third‑party fonts, maps, social widgets, advertising pixels, or third-party analytics providers. Fonts, images, the map of European regions, and the Umami analytics script are served from infrastructure controlled by us.

Some elements of the page (e.g. footer links) point to external websites such as GitHub or npm. Following those links takes you to third parties governed by their own privacy policies; we do not share personal data with them.

6. Hosting

The site is hosted on infrastructure provided by Hetzner Online GmbH (Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany), in EU datacenters. Hetzner acts as data processor under a Data Processing Agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR.

Hetzner processes the access‑log data described in §2 solely to deliver the website and protect its infrastructure. Hetzner's retention practices for access logs are documented in their privacy and security policies.

7. Email correspondence

Email addresses published on the site (hello@flui.cloud, security@flui.cloud, dawit@flui.cloud) are mailto: links: the site itself does not send or capture your message. Once received, your email is stored in our mailbox to allow us to respond to your inquiry or handle the security report you submitted.

8. Retention

  • Access logs: retained by Hetzner for the period defined by their logging policy.
  • Self-hosted analytics data: retained only for as long as necessary to understand aggregate website usage and improve the site. We review retention periodically and delete old analytics data when it is no longer useful.
  • Email correspondence: retained for as long as necessary to respond to your request and, where applicable, for the time required to comply with legal obligations or to defend legal claims. Threads with no follow‑up are reviewed and deleted periodically.

9. Recipients

Personal data is accessed only by the data controller and by Hetzner in its capacity as hosting provider. Analytics data is processed by our self-hosted Umami instance on infrastructure controlled by us. No third-party analytics provider receives this data.

10. International transfers

No personal data collected through this website is transferred outside the European Union. Website hosting and the self-hosted analytics setup run within EU infrastructure controlled by us or by Hetzner as hosting provider.

11. Your rights

Under GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability (Art. 15–22). To exercise any of these rights, email dawit@flui.cloud.

You may also lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority — for Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.

12. Children

This site is aimed at developers and IT decision‑makers and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page indicates the current revision. Material changes will be communicated through the site.
